Now in it's 55th year ... The Southern Academy of Dance provides the best training in classical ballet, jazz, tap, creative movement and performance from tiny tots to teacher levels.

A performer herself, the studio's director Sandra Breen OAM spent many years as a professional dancer in television, variety shows and musical theatre throughout Australia and New Zealand. She has since become an award winning choreographer, a fully qualified CSTD examiner, registered RAD teacher and is one of the most highly respected dance teachers in Queensland.

Students are encouraged to work hard to express their creativity, talent and personality through dance in a fun and nurturing environment. The students also learn music appreciation, teamwork and self confidence.

The first few years of the Academy saw Sandra Breen create the variety group 'Kids Incorporated'. The Kids featured on Channel 0's [10] Saturday Show for six years, culminating in their own prime time weekly television show It's A Small World.

Since then, many past students have enjoyed outstanding careers in dance and performance in theatre, television and film ... whilst others have gone on to creative careers in production, teaching, artist management and behind-the-scenes in entertainment. But whatever their chosen field, Sandra Breen is proud of each and every one.

"The talents of my students will never cease to amaze me. Over the years there have been so many successful people join us at the studio ... each one so different and yet joined by a distinct joy of dance and performance. It certainly makes my job rewarding!"

So come and join us at the Southern Academy of Dance ... the best place to be!
